BAYLISS |
Incumbent Logan County Commissioner John Bayliss cruised to a sixth term in office during voting in Tuesday’s Republican primary race.
Mr. Bayliss defeated challenger Dan Defibaugh by an unofficial count of 6,348-2,850.
No one filed to run as a Democrat and no new candidates met the Tuesday deadline to file as an independent in the commissioners race or any other seat for Logan County — all of which will go to the unopposed Republican candidates.
Mr. Bayliss, a 65-year-old Rushsylvania area sheep farmer and owner of residential design, building and remodeling firm, thanked his supporters in an email response and said he would like to continue working toward the completion of the Logan County Courthouse restoration and meeting other goals the commission has set in the coming four years.
“I thank the voters for their support; as well as those who volunteered with and invested financially in my campaign. I appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve as a Logan County Commissioner and work on the projects we have undertaken,” Mr. Bayliss wrote.
