Leah Edith (Faulkner) Ludlow, 91, of St. Paris, passed away, Saturday, April 9, 2022, in the Green Hills Community, West Liberty, Ohio.
Leah was born May 30, 1930 in Champaign County, Ohio. She was valedictorian of the Westville High School class of 1948. Leah married her high school sweetheart, Lee, June 2, 1948. She was a longtime and active member of the Terre Haute United Methodist Church. For 39 years, she was a school bus driver for Graham. She loved driving for trips for the band and the different school sports. She especially enjoyed talking to former students later in life whom she could usually identify once they told her where they used to live.
Leah and her husband Lee were very active members in the Graham Booster Club for many years. For 17 years, they chaired the Champaign County Fair pop sales and they also took pictures, set-up and ran the Graham School booth in the Merchants building. For several years she enjoyed volunteering with her sister, Zelpha, as greeters at the Red Cross blood drive in Urbana.
Leah enjoyed watching sports, bowling, her flowers, traveling out West with Lee and playing games; especially, euchre and dominoes. She also liked getting together with her friends in card clubs. She loved her family and enjoyed being involved in all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s activities. Her family remembers not just her love of sports and games, but especially her competitive spirit later in life with domino games.
Leah’s survivors include her daughter, Faith (Ray) McCullough, her sons, Michael (Janie) Ludlow and Larry (Gwen) Ludlow; her grandchildren, Angela (Shane) Godwin, Denise (Richard) Stayrook, Jamie (Brad) Harrison, Stephanie (Zach) Liggett, Amy (Ryan) Pratt, Ben (Amanda) Ludlow, Kyler (Aubrey) Ludlow and Kenleigh Ludlow; her great grandchildren, Lauren, Laine & Logan Godwin, Levi, Zayne & Aleah Reed, Kaylee, Gavin, Owen & Lyndee Harrison, Emma & Brylee Liggett, Andrew Kimball, Carter Pratt, Grace, Jake & Sam Ludlow, Austin & Brady Litton and Keegan & Mara Ludlow; her great great grandson, Tucker Reed; her brother, Nelson (Janie) Faulkner; her sisters, Zelpha (Russell) Arnold, Lillian Parrott and Frances Laughman; brother-in-law, David Ludlow; sister-in-law, Sandy Faulkner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lee Ludlow who passed May 10, 1979; her parents, Alpha C. and Edith (Evilsizor) Faulkner; her father-in-law Fairfax Ludlow and mother-in-law Mildred Harris; her brothers, Elden (Harriett) Faulkner, Herbert (Betty) Faulkner, Richard (Jeanie) Faulkner and Donald Faulkner; her sister, Edna (Lester) Shaffer; sisters-in-law, Margaret Faulkner and Gayle Ludlow; brothers-in-law, Charles Laughman, Guy Parrott and John (Mary K.) Ludlow; special niece, Joette (Parrott) Focht and special nephew, Mark Arnold.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana, Ohio.
The funeral service to Celebrate Leah’s life will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, in the funeral home with Pastor John Leighty officiating.
Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery, Terre Haute, Ohio.
