Lawrence Anthony “Tony” Cascioli, Sr., 90, of Lakeview, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
Tony was born on Sept. 23, 1930, in Columbus, a son of the late Lawrence and Lucia Capone Cascioli. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Leonard Cascioli, Danny Cascioli, Mae Cascioli, and Phil Cascioli.
On Feb. 3, 1962, Tony married Sarah Ann “Sally” Sweet in Columbus and she survives along with two sons, Paul (Katrina) Cascioli of Belle Center, and Tony (Barb) Cascioli, Jr. of Lakeview, four grandchildren, Larry (Tara) Cascioli of Waynesfield, Nathan Cascioli of Lakeview, Amber Luce and Lynn (Rick) Dysert, both of Belle Center, five great grandchildren, Reed, Bo and Jack Cascioli, Oliver and Gabriel Dysert, a brother, John Cascioli of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.
Tony was a 1948 graduate of Columbus Central High School. He had a strong work ethic. His career included working at A & P for 27 years, Walter’s IGA for 10 years, owning Tony’s Foods in Lafayette, OH, and working for his son, Tony at Downtown Discount Grocery in Lakeview until he was 87. He enjoyed playing yard darts and Yahtzee, bowling, washing his car and building macrome chairs. He and Sally spent the last 27 winters in Florida where his favorite activity was searching for shark’s teeth. Tony was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes. Raised in catholic faith, he was prayerfully devoted and of strong faith.
Reverend Shawn Landenwitch will begin funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday, March 26, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview with visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery. Due to state Covid-19 pandemic guidelines, attendees are asked to be symptom free, maintain social distancing and wear a facial covering.
