Indian Lake broke open a tight game with a third-quarter surge and the Lakers held off host Benjamin Logan in the final period for a 42-35 victory in a Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division girls basketball game Thursday night.
The win improves the Lakers to 8-11 overall and 5-3 in the CBC, while the Raiders drop to 7-12, 5-3.
It was a low-scoring affair in the first half. The Raiders led 9-6 after one quarter before Indian Lake move ahead 12-11 at halftime.
The scoring picked up in the second half. Indian Lake outscored the Raiders 16-8 in the third period to take a 28-19 advantage.
The Lakers maintained the momentum in the final period to wrap up the win.
Kyleigh Huffer paced the Lakers with 12 points. Haley Talbot contributed nine points and Kayli Barlow, Allison Kinney and Kaitlyn Boberg each added six points.
Savannah Pavoni led Ben Logan with nine points, Peyton Derr had eight points and Lynzee Cronkleton added five points.
Both teams are back in action Saturday. The Lakers play at Urbana and Ben Logan visits Graham.
