Calvary Christian’s girls basketball team won two games between Thursday and Friday at the Rosedale Bible College Invitational at Shekinah Christian.
The Spartans defeated Shekinah Christian 67-6 on Thursday and went on to beat Lancaster County Christian from Pennsylvania 44-19 on Friday. Calvary Christian now faces Arthur-Okaw Christian from Illinois in the championship game Saturday.
In the win over Shekinah Christian, Elisha Carter led the Spartans with 21 points, Emma Patton had 14 points and Erin Young chipped in six points.
Carter led the Spartans again in the win over Lancaster Christian with 21 points. Hannah Marlow scored eight points and Young had six points.
“We saw Lancaster Christian and I was concerned because they had two players over 6-1,” said Calvary head coach Eli Carter.
“I challenged our kids to battle strong in the post and Mataya Penhorwood did an excellent job. She was everywhere on the court putting a lot of pressure on their bigs and Mataya was the difference maker in this game.”
