Indian Lake’s Lane McPherson and Benjamin Logan’s Ethan Ricketts finished off their seasons Tuesday in the Division II district tournament at Glenview Golf Course near Cincinnati.
The top three teams and the top three individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the state tourney in Columbus.
A junior, McPherson carded an 80 to finish 14th individually out of 64 golfers. The Laker standout shot 40s on both the front and back of Glenview.
Ricketts, a senior, finished in a tie for 34th individually with an 86. The Raider carded a 42 on the front and a 44 on the back.
Alter claimed the district title with a 314, Oakwood was a close second with 317 and Bishop Fenwick was third with a 320.
Alter’s Davis Cochenouer and Oakwood’s Tom McCarthy were co-medalist with 71s.
Chiefs end season at DI sectional tourney
Bellefontaine’s boys golf team finished up its season Tuesday by competing in the Division I sectional tournament at Reid North in Springfield.
The top four teams and the top four individuals not on a qualfying team advanced to the district tournament.
Stebbins won the sectional championship with a 337, Bellbrook was runner-up with a 341, Tippecanoe was third with a 345 and Carroll was fourth with a 353. The Chieftains were 14th with a score of 420.
Liam Harris led BHS with a score of 86, which tied him for 16th indivdually out of 75 golfers. Kody Watts carded a 109, Austin Hammond had a 110 and Joe Boop added a 115.
Carroll’s Shane Ochs was tournament medalist with a low of 76.
