Indian Lake product Parker Grothaus made a big impact for Florida State’s football program this season.
A sophomore kicker for the Seminoles, Grothaus was recently named the special teams most valuable player at the program’s annual awards banquet in Tallahassee, Fla.
Grothaus earned the starting kick off position to begin the season at Florida State, but moved up to kicking extra points as well. He averaged 62.1 yards on 57 kickoffs with 40 touchbacks and made five-of-six extra point kicks.
Florida State finished the season 6-6 overall and is preparing to play in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. in El Paso, Texas. The game will be aired on CBS.
