Indian Lake got hot at the right time Wednesday night.
The Lady Lakers used a fourth-quarter surge to drop host Bellefontaine 43-35 on in a girls Cental Buckeye Conference crossover basketball game.
The Lakers bump their record to 6-4 on the season as the Chieftains fall to 2-11.
Indian Lake clipped Bellefontaine 9-8 after the opening quarter and again 11-10 in the second quarter. That put the Lakers on top 20-18 at halftime.
The Chieftains grabbed the momentum in the third quarter with a 9-4 run to take a 27-24 lead.
Indian Lake found a scoring burst in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Chiefs 19-8 to jump back in front and secure the win.
Stephanie Altstaetter paced the Lakers’ offense with 18 points, Allison Kinney had 11 points, Kyleigh Huffer tallied eight points and Kayli Tussing had six points.
For the Chiefs, Carmen Shumaker led with 12 points, Emma Middaugh had eight points and Rylie Fullerton and Kailynn Kenner each had five points.
In junior varsity action, Bellefontaine beat Indian Lake 38-28. Karys Varner led the Chiefs with 10 points. Savannah Hill led the Lakers with 13 points with Meadow McCullough and Katie Roby each scoring six points.
Indian Lake travels to Northwestern on Saturday, while Bellefontaine hosts Tecumseh on Saturday.
