Indian Lake’s boys basketball team jumped on top of visiting Urbana from the opening whistle Saturday and never let up en route to a 60-53 Central Buckeye Conference Mad River division victory.
The Lakers move their record to 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the CBC Mad River, while the Hillclimbers slide to 2-2, 1-1.
Indian Lake grabbed a 21-14 lead after the opening quarter. The Lakers outscored the Hillclimbers 9-6 in the second quarter, which gave them a 30-20 halftime advantage.
Urana was able to match Indian Lake in the third quarter 13-13, but the Hillclimbers still trailed 47-37. Urbana continued to chip away at Indian Lake’s lead in the fourth quarter with a 16-13 effort, but couldn’t get any closer.
Camdon Tuttle sparked the Laker offense with 16 points, Caleb Wurster tallied 12 points, Zander Barnes had 10 points and Caiden Nicol added nine points.
In junior varsity action, Urbana beat Indian Lake 54-46. Maddux Hall led the Lakers with 17 points.
Indian Lake hosts Tecumseh on Tuesday in a CBC makeup game.
