West Liberty-Salem’s girls basketball team handled Milton-Union 50-11 on Saturday in a Division III sectional opener at Northridge High School.
The second-seeded Tigers (17-6) advance to play 16th-seeded Indian Lake on Tuesday at Northridge in a semifinal contest at 6 p.m.
WL-Salem came out firing in the first quarter to take a 15-6 lead. The Tigers used a 10-2 run in the second quarter to build a 25-8 halftime advantage.
The Tigers didn’t let up in the third quarter and shut out the Bulldogs 19-0, which made it a 44-8 score. WL-Salem finished the game with a 6-3 run in the final period.
Selena Weaver paced the Tigers with 15 points, Grace Estes had 11 points and Emily Hollar added eight points.
