A Kenton man was arrested Thursday after he shot a pellet gun at two people in a sport utility vehicle around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and West Street.
Kyle Richardson, 18, was lodged in the Logan County Jail on two counts of felonious assault.
Malachi Dawson of Bellefontaine told officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department he was with Kiersten Clerico driving to his cousin’s home when Richardson began shooting at the SUV. Pellets struck and shattered the driver’s side and rear windows.
Dawson acknowledged there is an ongoing feud with Richardson.
Officers checked a residence in the area of the shooting and learned the suspect had left. They tracked him to the basement of 312 W. High Ave. and ordered him out.
He complied when officers warned they were going to send the department police dog into the basement.
Men arrested in traffic stop
Two men were arrested Thursday after a 2:55 p.m. traffic stop on Garfield Avenue for window tint that was too dark and no front license plate.
Steven E. Angel, 44, of Hebron, was charged with obstructing justice and possession of drug paraphernalia and served a felony warrant for improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Omar M. Omar, 33, of Pickerington, was charged with identity fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men lied about their respective identities with Omar providing a valid Social Security number for another person.
A pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine was found in the vehicle along with a socket with wire brush pad remnants commonly used in the abuse of crack cocaine.
Both men were lodged in jail.
Man violates trespassing order
Jakob Ford, 24, at large, was arrest Wednesday for criminal trespassing and violation probation.
He was found around 6:20 p.m. at Alexis M. Belcher’s 809 Heritage Court, Apt. 29, residence in violation of an apartment complex order to stay off the property and a court order to have no contact with Belcher.
Belcher was reportedly uncooperative with officers who lodged Ford in jail.
