Kenneth E. Foreman, 88, of West Mansfield, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at Logan Acres Nursing Home.
A 1945 graduate of West Mansfield High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Having a strong work ethic, he delivered ice during his childhood, then went on to work at Hardings, Hopewell Dairy and Nash Finch.
An avid reader, Ken also enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of the American Legion Post 603 in West Mansfield, and attended the West Mansfield United Methodist Church.
Born Aug. 1, 1931, he was the son of the late George and Vena (LeVan) Foreman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Tom Foreman; great-granddaughter, Sky Lhamon; sisters, Sandy Hairfield and Ruth Short; and brothers, George Foreman, Jr., Terry Foreman and Charles “Pete” Foreman.
On May 28, 1955, in West Mansfield, he married his wife of over 64 years, Julia Longbrake and she survives in West Mansfield. He is also survived by his sons, Ken (Diane) Foreman and Tim Foreman of West Mansfield; sister, Joy Luman of Arp, Tex.; brother; Lester (Jerri) Foreman of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Mike (Wanda) Foreman, Dustany (David) Foreman, Shel-Leigh (Shawn) Sadler, Scot (Sarah) Foreman, Danielle Foreman, Shelbie (Jazz) McNew, Kylene (Tim) Jenkins and Tyler Foreman; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylee, Brooklyn, Colin, Hunter, Jayda, Riley, Sunny, Summer, Izabelle, Lucas, Arianna, Benjamin, Hayden, Jaydyn, Raiden, Paige, Alyvia, Sabre, Tyson and Logan.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020. Pastor Douglas Thompson officiates and burial follows at Greenlawn Cemetery in West Mansfield.
