Judy A. Southard, 66, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, at her residence, after a four-year battle with cancer.
She was born in Washington, D.C., on March 20, 1950, a daughter of the late Floyd and Marie Ostrander Starks. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Southard, in 2012; and a grandson, Trent Dean Southard, in 1989.
She is survived by her husband, Don Southard of Bellefontaine, whom she married March 2, 1968, in Walnut Grove Church near Rushsylvania. She also is survived by two grandchildren, Kyle and MacKenzie Southard of Bellefontaine; a sister, Susan Waltz of Georgia; and a brother, Ron (April) Starks of New Lexington, N.C.
Judy worked for AcuSport before retiring in 2012. She enjoyed sports including softball, bowling and golfing. She was a member of the Eagles, American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W., all in Bellefontaine. Her grandchildren were a very special part of her life.
Pastor John Watkins officiates a memorial service at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 1, in the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine.
