Joseph B. Scott, 81, of Huntsville, formerly of Kenton, died at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at The Ohio State University Hospital East.
He was born on July 17, 1934, in Foraker, to the late Paul and Olive Mae Young Scott.
On June 4, 1960, he married the former Sharon Johnston and she preceded him in death Jan. 1, 1989. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Randall Scott.
Surviving are four sons, Terry (Cindy) Scott of Huntsville, Brad (Elizabeth) Scott of West Liberty, Troy Scott of Columbus and Matt (Jennifer) Scott of Lakeview; two grandchildren, David (Becky) Scott of Huntsville and Savannah Daniels; one great-grandson, Cash Wagner Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph was a U.S Army veteran and a former member of the AMVETS, Eagles and Moose posts. While in the Army, Joseph enjoyed boxing and even did so outside of the military. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and played the lead guitar in various bands throughout his younger years.
Joe loved his family and spending time with them, whenever he could.
Pastor Jason Manns officiates a funeral at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home, Kenton. Burial with military honors follows at Grove Cemetery.
