John W. Hayman Jr., 61, of Lakeview, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
John was born Nov. 4, 1955, in Martins Ferry, to the late John W. Sr. and Shirley Ann Saffell Hayman. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Howard; and brother, Bernard Hayman.
He is survived by three sons, John W. Hayman III of Horn Lake, Miss., Christopher D. Hayman of Glen Robbins and Brandon S. Hayman of Bellefontaine; seven grandchildren, Alexas, Taylor, Camryn, Jasmine, Gauge, Chayce and Carson; two great-grandchildren, Brayson and Victoria Jo-Lynn; six siblings, William Hayman, Mike Hayman and Brian Hayman, all of Bellefontaine, Tammy (Ronald) Howard and Cindy (Tony) Howard, both of Rayland, and Timothy (Janet) Hayman of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.
John was a retired plumbing and heating master. He was a United States Army veteran serving during Vietnam. John was a member of the Church of Christ in Mumford, Tenn., and served as a council member for the Village of Lakeview. John was kind-hearted and would help anyone he saw in need. He enjoyed talking politics.
Graveside services with military honors are at 1 p.m. Monday, June 19, at Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 18, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview.
