Jerold Kia Ansley, 68, of Ridgeway, passed away at 7:14 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28,2019, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Kenton on Sept. 26, 1950, to Helen Elizabeth McGee Ansley, who survives, and the late William Richard Ansley.
On March 15, 1975, he married the former Kathy Wren in West Liberty, and she survives, along with a daughter, Jennifer Kay (Gavin) Strickland; three grandchildren, Norma Jean Ansley, L’wren Joy McDonald and Wyatt Strickland; two brothers, Richard (Jo) Ansley and Donald Ansley; a sister-in-law, Karen Ansley; and his special cat, “Sophie.”
Jerold was preceded in death by his daughter, Krista Joy McDonald; and a brother, Keith Ansley.
A farmer, Jerold had worked on the first responder team at Honda of America in Marysville and also volunteered for the Ridgeway Fire Department. He enjoyed baking and working in the greenhouse.
Pastor Tim Kohl and Brother Mike Rucker officiate a memorial service at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Ridgeway First Church of God, 141 Oak St., Ridgeway, following calling that begins at 3 p.m.
