Jeffrey Dean Ray, 57, of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday morning, April 8, 2016, at his home.
He was born in Columbus on Dec. 11, 1958, to Sue Ray of Columbus and the late Rex A. Ray Sr. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Calloway; and his first wife, Sherri “Katie” Ray.
On Sept. 18, 2004, he married Bev Ray in Columbus and she survives, along with his daughter, Gloria (Matthew) Smith of Ostrander; two grandchildren, Dean R. Smith and Riley Smith; brothers, Rex (Cindy) Ray Jr. of Groveport and Tom Ray of Columbus; a sister, Tammy (Jeff) Patterson of Canada; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff attended Groveport Madison High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated with honors and received associate degrees in manufacturing and management from Mesa Community College, Mesa, Ariz. He was an associate at Honda of America Mfg. at Marysville for nine years.
He enjoyed buying and selling antiques and collectibles, attended Concordia Lutheran Church in Columbus, and enjoyed studying and reading the Bible with his wife, Bev.
Visitation is two hours prior to a celebration of life at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, with Chaplain Chantel Seiler officiating. Inurnment is at Calvary Cemetery, with military honors by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
