Jeanne Ann Vicario, 87, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 1:52 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born in Bellefontaine on Nov. 17, 1929, to the late Ralph L. and Lenore Hatcher Henry. On Sept. 6, 1948, she married Richard J. Vicario and he preceded her in death March 5, 2016. She also was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Vicario in 1989.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana (Mike) Hawkey and Vicki (Charley) Marlow, both of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Chris (Carol) Marlow of Bellefontaine, Scott (Darcy) Marlow of Huntsville, Jamie (Sarah) Marlow of Dayton and Casey (Ryan) King of Cable; great-grandchildren, Taylor Manahan, Hannah Marlow, Zander Little and Elias King; a brother, Richard (Sally) Henry of Lakeview; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her beloved mini dachshund, Bo.
Jeanne was a life-long member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. She was co-owner, with her husband, Dick, of Vicario Shoe Repair, Vicario’s Shoe Center and Vicario’s Pizza. Jeanne was partners with Janice Kerns in the Now … and Then Shop. She was a member of the Bellefontaine Business and Professional Women, Soroptimists, where she was president twice, the Logan County Historical Society and the Logan County Genealogical Society.
Jeanne was a poet, Civil War buff and family historian. She loved spending time with her family and collecting dolls, teddy bears and antique glass. Jeanne loved to travel and work in the garden.
It was always Jeanne’s wish that even after she was gone that her family would remain close and continue the traditions and values that were so important to her and Richard.
Father Shawn Landenwitch officiates a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 328 E. Patterson Ave., Bellefontaine. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
