Jane E. Bennett, 69, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully at her family home, on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, surrounded by several members of her close family.
Born June 23, 1949, in Bellefontaine, Jane was a daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth Milroy. On Aug. 13, 1972, she married Charles Bennett and he survives, along with four children, Lisa (Rodrigo) Murillo Bennett of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, David (Kari) Bennett of Carlsbad, Calif., Steven (Megan) Bennett of Charlotte, N.C., and Ryan Bennett of Columbus; seven grandsons, Oliver, Carter, Lucas, Charlie, Gray and Harris Bennett; and Alejandro Murillo; and siblings, Anne (Larry) Shroyer of DeGraff, Robert (Ina) Milroy of Worthington and Eleanor Milroy of Albuquerque, N.M.
Jane was a schoolteacher for 36 years and taught special education classes at Riverside, Jackson Center and Indian Lake schools districts. She also taught at at the Ohio Hi-Point Joint Vocational School and was the coordinator of the adult basic education program there for 12 years. She taught Sunday school at the Huntsville Presbyterian Church for 18 years and also served there as a ruling elder and choir member. Jane had a passion for flowers and spent much of her spare time in her flower gardens.
Jane donated her body for medical research to The Ohio State University College of Medicine.A private memorial service is planned when her cremains become available.
