James “Jim” Bert Skaggs, 54, of Lakeview, lost his battle with cancer at 11:29 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, with his family by his side.
He was born in Cincinnati on June 11, 1963, a son of the late Bert and Katherine Skaggs.
He is survived by five children, Shaunna (Stephen) Trask, Dustin Skaggs, James Dylan Skaggs, Jeff (Cara) Skaggs and Amy Skaggs; two sisters, Sandra Folk and Cynthia (Johnny) Cupps; two brothers, Mark Skaggs and Kenneth Skaggs; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jimmy loved to joke and play around. He was always one to be the first to break the silence with a wise crack. He was a huge NASCAR fan and an even bigger Cleveland Browns/ fan. But his most favorite thing in the world was his children. Jimmy loved his children very much and there was never a time he wasn’t proud of them. He spoke about them as much as possible and loved it when you’d ask him about them. He loved his family and friends dearly and was very grateful for all that had been done for him.
Per Jim’s request, his body was cremated.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the family.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, and online condolences may be expressed at www.edsfh.com.
