Jacqueline “Jackie” Sue Rose, 74, of Sidney, went home to be with the Lord at 3 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at home.
She was born Feb. 1, 1942, in Shelby County, a daughter of the late Franklin and Harriet Hetzler Evans. She also was preceded in death by one son, Curt Perrin; and her in-laws, Robert and Ilean Rose.
On Dec. 15, 1967, she married Robert “Randy” R. Rose, who survives, along with children, Lori (Michael) Cook and Mark (Angela) Perrin, both of Sidney; grandchildren, Zachary Sandlass of Sidney, Paizey (Cody) Gammon of Norfolk, Va., and Kiana Perrin and Curtis Perrin, both of Sidney; two stepgrandchildren, Brittney (Mikey) Jones of Surprise, Ariz., and Katelyn Cook of Lima; two great-stepgrandsons, Cohen and Michael; three loving sisters, Bette McDaniel of Bellefontaine, Jeanne (Gailen) Zook of Rosewood and Reenie (Michael) Elliott of Quincy; brothers-in-law, Rick (Sheila) Rose of Vandalia and Michael Rose of Sidney; sister-in-law, Mary Kay (Joe) Addy of Sidney; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jackie was a good friend to many. Special longtime friends include Ann Bennion, Paul and Shirley Bremke, Karl and Judy Bemus and Jerry and Lucy Lovett.
A 1960 Rosewood High School graduate, throughout her life, she was an avid reader, a trait she instilled in her children and grandchildren. She retired from Copeland Corporation/Emerson Climate Technologies in 1996 after 30 years of dedicated service.
She enjoyed dancing as well as a variety of sports, playing softball, volleyball, bowling, and for the past 30 years she was an avid golfer. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends.
In keeping with Jackie’s wishes, her body will be cremated. A celebration of her life is from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 13, at Rosewood United Methodist Church, 6543 Rosewood-Quincy Road, Rosewood, immediately followed by a memorial service. She was a member of Rosewood United Methodist Church, Sidney Women of the Moose, Piqua Country Club and Dayton District Women’s Golf Association.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Children’s Imagination Library at the Shelby County Library and Wilson Hospice Care.
