DUNN |
Gary M. Dunn, 44, of 309 E. Main St., Belle Center, was charged with disorderly conduct and menacing Monday afternoon following incidents in Belle Center.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office first responded to the village about 3:25 p.m. on a report from a resident in the 400 block of east Main Street of a suspicious person. The defendant reportedly was intoxicated and had a dog with him. He had knocked at the caller’s door, asking for firewood, according to reports.
Deputies were unable to locate the intoxicated person at that time, but about 5:40 p.m., they were called back to the village on a similar report. A resident in the 300 block of east Main Street said his neighbor had showed up at his door with a dog and allegedly made threats to burn his house down.
Mr. Dunn was identified as the suspect, and deputies responded to his residence. They noted that he was very intoxicated, and he was transported to the Logan County Jail.
Drunk driver charged after hit-skip crash
Molly J. Shick, 45, of Kenton, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following incidents Monday evening, also in the Belle Center area.
Deputies report she was operating a northbound pickup about 8 p.m. on County Road 39 just south of the village corporation limit when she drove off the right side of the road and struck a bridge. Witnesses reported that after the crash, Ms. Shick continued driving into Belle Center.
Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop with her vehicle on County Road 102 just north of the village. However, Ms. Shick continued driving into Hardin County before stopping her vehicle.
Signs of intoxication were observed, and the driver failed field sobriety tests. She was transported to the Logan County Jail, where she refused to take a breathalyzer test.
She also was cited for leaving the scene of a crash and failure to control.
