Marriage license takes best of show
A 135-year-old marriage certificate captured the best of show title in Monday’s open class antiques judging.

Jack Lambert, owner of Auglaize Antique Mall in Wapakoneta returned this year as judge of the departmet and he enjoyed the piece which featured tintype photos of the bridge and groom, Ella Baker and William Wilson, great-greatgrandparents of Bob McDonald of DeGraff, who entered the family heirloom.
“I love the tin type,” Lambert said. “It’s a great example of an antique,”
He also liked the reserve winning cast iron toy train exhibited by Bill Sadler of Bellefontaine.

“I just think it’s wonderful,” the judge said, adding the Railplane may be a Kenton Toy Company item from the 1930s. Its green paint and wheels remained intact.
