Helen M. Ransbottom, 99, of West Liberty, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018, at Green Hills Assisted Living in West Liberty.
She was born in Bellefontaine on Jan. 21, 1919, to the late Charles Wilbur and Vada Elzey Stout.
On March 7, 1937, Helen married William Ransbottom in Logan County and he preceded her in death Aug. 1, 1984. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Miller; a son, Terry Lee Ransbottom; a grandson, Jeffery Warye; two great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Jim, Bob, Kenny and Harold Stout.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Howard) Warye; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Ransbottom; a son-in-law, Doug Miller; eight grandchildren, Teresa (Yuzo) Suzuki, Tammy (Terry) Ramby, Todd Ransbottom, Toni Alty, Trisha Marous, Debbie (Felix) Buccellato, Greg (Connie) Miller and Rick (Pellar) Miller; 23 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Stout; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church, Helen worked as a personnel director at JCPenney in Lima for nine years. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed playing cards.
Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty, where Pastor Lee Ortman officiates a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14. Burial follows in Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
