FT. LORAMIE — The fifth annual “Growing Women in Agriculture, an Empowerment Celebration” event sponsored by the Shelby County agricultural community is set from 6 to 9 p.m. March 28 at St. Michael’s Hall, 33 Elm St., Ft. Loramie.
The evening blends educational and fun agriculture information and begins with heavy hors by d’oeuvres and wine sampling, followed by keynote speaker, Marlene Eick, sharing about “Living Your Story.” The speaker is a success coach and podcaster and is co-owner of Herdmark Media in Wooster.
Break-out sessions include Rose Harschuh speaking about Girl Power: What Does it mean to be a Woman in Agriculture?; Selling Directly to Consumers by Jess Campbell, owner of Carrol Creek Farms LLC, a community-supported agriculture livestock farm; Addressing Misconceptions about Food with Jennifer Coleman of the Ohio Soybean council; and Farm and Family Photography with Lindsey Whetstone, who will provide tips and ideas on capturing life’s special moments.
The cost is $20 per person, with an additional $25 for an optional pre-event Make’ n Take succulent class. A portion of the fee will support Rustic Hope Shed which provides free support to single mothers before, during and after pregnancy in Russia, Ohio. Registration deadline is March 8.
