George Lewis Adelsberger, 84, of Rushsylvania passed away at 8:55 a.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Green Hills Inn, West Liberty.
He was born in Summit County, Ohio on April 23, 1934, the son of the late George Alexander and Mary Catharine (Pay) Adelsberger.
On June 21, 1951, he married Alice Mae (Roberts) Adelsberger and she preceded him in death on June 13, 2010.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Malinda Rodenberger Agner of Bellefontaine, three sons; Joseph Arnold (Lori) Adelsberger of Rogersville, TN, George William (Tina) Adelsberger of Bellefontaine, and Eric (Krista) Adelsberger of Bellefontaine, and grandchildren; Terry Lynn Rodenberger, Travis Lee (Tanya) Rodenberger, Anthony Eugene Agner, Isaac Charles Ray Agner, Warren Tyler Agner, Joshua James (Kristi) Adelsberger, Jenny Marie (Eric) West Conley, Sheryn Elizabeth (Barry) Warne, Jeremy David (Jessica) Titus, Emily Megan (Joseph) Walls, Katharine Rachel (David) Andre’, George Aaron (Rebecca) Adelsberger, Bethany Joy (Shane) Barnard, Matthew Davis Adelsberger, Benjamin Davis (Becca) Adelsberger, Nicholas Connor Adelsberger, Joseph Michael Harmison, Joshua Matthew Harmison, Abbigayle Grace Adelsberger, and Sophia Elle Adelsberger, and 16 great-grandchildren.
George drove truck for Super Foods for 35 years before retiring and was a long-time member of the Rushsylvania Church of Christ. He always enjoyed following his grandchildren in their sports and activities.
He never knew a stranger and looked forward each year to the July 4th celebration he would host for all of his family and friends. He also enjoyed Blue Grass Gospel music.
Pastor John Watkins will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in the Rushsylvania Church of Christ, 170 Mill St E, Rushsylvania, OH 43347. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Rushsylvania Cemetery.
