Frank B. Smith, 67, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 6:09 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He was born on November 12, 1954 in Bellefontaine, the fifth son of Phillip Morris and Bette Jean (Blair) Smith Warner.
On February 5, 1977, Frank married the former Beverly Ann Shawver in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on August 29, 2016. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Keith Smith and an infant brother, Gary Smith.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Emily Smith of Westerville; son, Josiah (Johanna) Smith of West Liberty; four grandchildren, Micah Smith, Mariska Smith, Jabari Wright, and Patience Wright; five brothers, Larry Smith, Jerry Smith, Steve Smith, Greg Smith, and Mark (Tammy) Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was baptized along with his daughter Emily on Easter Day 1993 at First Christian Church, where he had also served as a deacon. He worked for 48 years at several jobs, including as a steel worker, truck driver, and transportation coordinator. He retired in January 2020 from Midwest Express Inc. Frank enjoyed watching NASCAR and Buckeye football, grilling, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday, November 22, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street in Bellefontaine, where a funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty.
