One of two men accused of stealing mail from the Zanesfield area admitted his guilt Monday in Logan County Common Pleas Court.

Brima Jalloh, 21, of Westerville, pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.
He and Handris Kamara, 19, of Somerset, N.J., were charged after a May 4 incident in which they were seen taking mail from mailboxes along County Road 2.
Resident Eileen Hatfield called the Logan County Sheriff’s Office after seeing the men removing items, including what was later discovered to be a check from her 8806 C.R. 2 residence.
An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department located the suspect vehicle on State Route 540 and deputies also found other pieces of stolen mail that had been torn up.
Mr. Kamara also appeared in court Monday and was assigned a new lawyer after failing to stay in contact with his previous attorney.
The Logan County Sheriff’’s Office filed the misdemeanor possession charge.
Grandfather admits using heroin while watching 8-year-old

Brian Hayman, 52, of Bellefontaine, admitted possession of heroin and misdemeanor endangering children charges for injecting heroin while watching his 8-year-old granddaughter.
Police were called to the residence March 1 and were allowed into the home where they found him in the bathroom with a hypodermic needle in the trash can next to him. He admitted he had just abused the drug. Officers recovered the needle and a spoon with drug residue.
More needles and two foil balls with heroin were found in a black bag in the laundry room.
Sentencing was set for Oct. 31.
• Kail Guyan, 27, of Russells Point, entered a guilty plea to possession of drugs and admitted a probation violation. He was found unconscious in the bathroom of Froggy’s, 11065 Township Road 293, Lakeview, on Jan. 30. Various drugs and paraphernalia were found in the immediate proximity of Mr. Guyan, who was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by an Indian Lake squad.
Mr. Guyan will be referred to the rehabilitation program at West Central Community Correctional Facility prior to his Oct. 31 sentencing date.
Man sentenced for 9th OVI

Jerrod Pooler, 45, of Zanesfield, was sentenced to two years in prison for his ninth drunk driving conviction.
He was charged June 21, 2015, with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. His license was suspended for life and he was ordered to pay a mandatory $1,350 fine.
He previously was ordered to forfeit a 1986 Dodge vehicle and any motor vehicles he owns or registers in the future must have OVI license plates.
