Firefighters of Bellefontaine Fire and EMS department and two surrounding departments spent nearly six hours Sunday battling a blaze that broke out at the Cherokee Run Landfill, 2946 N. U.S. Route 68, Bellefontaine.
Firefighters were called at 6:26 a.m. and responded with an engine, tanker and grass truck. They found an approximately 100-by-150-foot area about 10 feet in depth burning, Chief Andy Fissel reports.
