Zanesfield native and former Benjamin Logan volleyball star Nicole Fawcett helped the U.S. women’s national team to three wins over the weekend at the FIVB World Grand Prix tournament in Hong Kong, China.

The U.S. team finished the preliminary phase of the Grand Prix tournament with an 8-1 record. It will head to the World Grand Prix Final 6 as the top seed.
Team USA beat Germany 25-19, 25-22, 30-28 on Friday, beat Netherlands 25-17, 19-25, 25-17, 25-20 on Saturday and then knocked off China 25-19, 25-21, 25-17. China entered the match as the only country in the 12-team Group 1 field to remain undefeated.
Fawcett led her team with 15 kills in Friday’s match against Germany.
