F. Louise Beatty, 96, of DeGraff, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bloomfield Township on Oct. 9, 1920, to the late Ray Sherman and Tena Anna Sidle Strayer.
On Jan. 21, 1945, she married Joseph Walter Beatty, and he preceded her in death Aug. 5, 2004. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Miller and Catherine Kuhn; and four brothers, Donald, Sherman, Harley and Robert Strayer.
Louise is survived by her four children, Jerry (Vivian) Beatty, Robert (Tina) Beatty, Jeanne (John) Stout, and Connie Beatty; five grandchildren, Greg (Ashley) Beatty, Kevin Beatty, Eric Beatty, Jessica Stout and Jacob Stout; four great-grandchildren, Laileigh, Cooper, McKenna and Sawyer Beatty; a brother, Richard Henry Strayer; and many nieces and nephews.
A homemaker and farmer, Louise was a 1938 graduate of DeGraff High School. She was a member of the DeGraff United Methodist Church and a 75-year member of Miami Grange 2158.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St., DeGraff, where Pastors Bill Halter and Michael Mitchell officiate a funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3. BurialĀ follows in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
