Eulicia “Teddy” Wells Sawyer, 73, of Lakeview, departed from this life Monday, July 17, 2017, at Green Hills Community of West Liberty.
She was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Paintsville, Ky., a daughter of Edwin and Lucille Stepp Wells. Teddy attended Triad High School and then acquired a degree in cosmetology in Springfield. She held various offices in the Grove City Post of the Veterans of Foreign War, where her late husband served as commander and then district commander.
She enjoyed her home where she and Don lived for many years. She also enjoyed boating on Indian Lake, and many trips to Florida. Her favorite pastime was watching fireworks from her backyard and doing family genealogy and painting were her favorite hobbies.
She is survived by her stepmother, Bulah Jane Wells of Woodstock; sisters, Ila Jean (Roderick) Yocom of Cable, Ellen (Pastor Kenny) Cordell of Urbana, Helen Combs of Urbana and Lillian Ann (Dr. Douglas) Hostetler of Seward, Neb.; sister-in-law, Christina (Eddie) Wells of Cable; and stepbrothers, Charle Crusie of Washington Court House, David Crusie of Florida and Tom and Mark Crusie, both of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald W. Sawyer; her brother, Edwin “Eddie” D. Wells; and nephew, Christopher M. Hostetler.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Jennings Farley Funeral Home, where visitation begins at 10 a.m. Pastor Grant Cordell officiates. Burial follows in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
