Bonnie Tuttle, 69, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday evening, July 15, 2017, at the Kobacker House, Columbus.
She was born in Detroit, Mich., on March 9, 1948, to the late Melbourne and Mary Spencer Killam.
She married George B. Tuttle on Aug. 8, 1970, in Warren, Mich., and he survives in Bellefontaine. She is also survived by their children, Jason (Keely Mills) Tuttle of New York, N.Y., and Anne (William) Canaday of Pataskala; two grandchildren, Nolan and Waylon Canaday; a brother, Richard (Judy) Killam of State College, Pa.; a sister, Nancy Simon of Chicago and several nieces and nephews, Brad (Andrea) Killam, Spence (Cathryn) Killam, Sherry (Kevin) Tirko, Mellisa (ChenChi) Xqdong and Jnandra Simon.
She also was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Joe Simon.
Bonnie was a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar in 1971-72. She graduated from Wright State University with a master’s degree and spent 35 years in education. She taught at the Patterson Kennedy School for the Deaf in the Dayton Public Schools System and also at Conger Elementary and Carlisle Elementary in the Delaware Public Schools. Before closing out her working career, Bonnie worked at Huntington Bank for several years. An avid quilter, Bonnie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, July 24, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 328 E. Patterson St. Bellefontaine.
Interment is in Calvary Cemetery.
