Emery E. Ross, 92, of Kenton, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Hardin Hills Nursing Home in Kenton.
He was born in Flat Gap, Ky., on Aug. 5, 1924, to the late Con Joseph and Erie Salyer Ross. On May 2, 1963, he married the former Grace Patrick and she survives.
He is also survived by a granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn (Matt) Stevens of Glasgow, Ky.; sisters, Jeanette Skidmore of Rushsylvania, Lillian Houchin of Belle Center, Reva Johnson of Hamilton, Linda Pifer of Kenton and Sandra (Roger) Bullock of Belle Center; aunt Lexie Bailey of Kentucky; special niece, Sharon (Doug) Burris of Harrod; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Emery was preceded in death by his sons, Michael E. Ross and Mark A. Ross; three sisters; and three brothers-in-law.
Emery served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946. He worked for Lima Plumber and Pipefitters for 43 years and was a 50-year member of the Plumber and Pipefitter Union.
Emery enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Emery also enjoyed watching old Western movies.
Pastor David Schneer officiates a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 306 N. Elizabeth St., Belle Center, where visitation is two hours prior. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center with military rites provided by the Logan County Honor Guard.
