Elizabeth J. “Betty” Davie, 82, of Marysville, died early Saturday morning, September 25, 2021, at Doctors West Hospital following months of failing health.
Betty held many secretarial jobs over the years, beginning with Kelly Girls Temp Agency and furthering through the City of Marysville and Nationwide Insurance. She also owned and ran two businesses in Florida, and was even a switch board operator in West Mansfield. She loved baking for her family, especially cookies, along with her flowers and gardening. An avid reader, she also held an affinity for elephants and even volunteered her time at Memorial Hospital for 10 years.
Betty was born June 5, 1939 in Columbus to the late Ralph E. and Maude (Lewis) Evans. She was also preceded in death by siblings Eloise Carlson, Evelyn Coffman, Gerri Miller and Ruth Lentz.
She is survived by her daughter, Andrya Clapsaddle, a son-in-law John Clapsaddle, her son Dan Davie, her daughter and son-in-law Sara and Garrett Workman, all of West Mansfield; grandchildren Cassie Clapsaddle, Jacob (Jenny) Clapsaddle, Rikki (Dylan) Arsenau, Hailey (Timmy) Rodriquez; Mackenzie (Ryan) Ruble, Joel Workman and Katie Workman; great grandchildren Ethan and Emma Nicol, Corbin and Autumn Clapsaddle, Carter Amerine, Karleigh Arsenau and Judah Rodriquez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 4 pm Saturday, October 9, at the West Mansfield Baptist Church, 283 N. Dean St., West Mansfield, with her nephew Gary Miller and Pastor Sharon Hunter officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to service time beginning at 3 p.m. Following the service, a dinner will be provided at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Give and Take Improvement Fund in care of Ingram Funeral Home, who is handling arrangements (check made payable to Give and Take, Betty’s name in the memo line). Contribution cards will also be available at the church.
