Elizabeth Ann Scott, 88, formerly of Bellefontaine and Quincy, passed away Sunday morning, April 10, 2016, at Green Hills Retirement Community, West Liberty.
Elizabeth was born in Shelby County on April 29, 1927, to the late James and Sylvia Allen Kendall.
She married John W. Scott on March 13, 1947, and he preceded her in death in 1991. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria A. Ziobro; grandson, Ralph E. Ziobro; a brother, Arvie Kendall; and sisters, Mae Schmidt and Juanita Anderson.
She is survived by her son, Stephen W. Scott of Bellefontaine; former daughter-in-law, Linda E. (Ray) Downing of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren, Terrasa (Jack) Walters, Tonya Marie Beeney, John L. Scholz, Jenneatte Ziobro and Collin R. Downing; seven great-grandchildren, Arielle Crook, Cole M. Butz, Jacob Butz, Grayson Beeney, Tailyn Beeney, Jayston Beeney and Ralph Scholz; two great-great-grandchildren, Raegyn Lynn Greene and Aidyn Greene; a sister, Leatha Watkins of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth worked as a nurse’s aide for many years at Wilson Memorial and Mary Rutan hospitals. She also worked in the stamping department at Stolle Corporation in Sidney. While her husband was alive, Elizabeth obtained her commercial driving license and they worked as team drivers.
A celebration of life is at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the home of Terrasa Walters, 2650 Township Road 182, Bellefontaine. Interment is at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Quincy.
