Edwin D. “Ed” Skidmore, 69, of Dunkirk, entered into eternal rest Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, leaving behind his wife of 48 years, Charlotte; a son, Michael; and a daughter, Lisa, both of Cleveland.
He passed at the Hospice of the Western Reserve, Cleveland. He was very brave in the 20-month struggle with his cancer.
He was born Jan. 9, 1947, in Kenton to the late James Kenneth and Martha Lowery Skidmore. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Clifford Skidmore.
Other survivors include his sister-in-law, Rita Skidmore of Bellefontaine; nephews, Eric (Cynthia) Wills of Independence, Ky., and Doug (Chandra Coleman) Wills of East Liberty; niece, Bobby (Scott) Gill of Bellefontaine; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Judy Worstein of Kansas, Ohio; nephew, Dan Worstein of Findlay; and nieces, Cindy (Adam) Shope of Grove City and Krista (Jason) Gibson of Trenton. Several great- nieces and nephews, along with many cousins, played an important role in Ed’s life.
Family and friends can help celebrate his life by coming to visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. Friday celebration of life at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Green officiating. Following the service it was his request to be cremated.
The family requests contributions in Ed’s name be given to the Grace United Methodist Church, 200 N. Walnut St., Dunkirk, OH 45836.
