Edna Louise Church, 73, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at her residence.
Born to William Henry “Bill” and Alma Culham Russell on March 19, 1945, in Knoxville, Tenn., she was a 1964 graduate of Walter E Stebbins High School in Mad River Township, Dayton. She later attended classes at Sinclair Community College in Dayton.
Edna retired from Lowe’s in 2013, and also had worked at Gem Sportswear, Belle Center IGA and NCR. She enjoyed gardening and preserving food (initially by necessity, but later more recreationally), sewing and crochet.
Edna is survived by her loving husband, Steven Church; children, Sean Hill and Michelle Hill; stepchildren, Steven (Karen) Church Jr. and Amanda (Nick) Close; grandchildren, Skylar, Austin, Jordan, Stephanie and Aaron; great- grandchild, Ethyn; her brother, William “Mickey” Russell; her sister, Melissa (Alan) Collins; sisterin- law, Linda Lee Slusher; nieces, Kelly Hill, Tracey Hill Metzger, Lisa (Neal) Worrell, Laura (Pete) Wood and Danielle (Bob) Sharp; nephew, Dan Slusher; and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Russell Eugene Hill; stepson, Christopher Marvin Church; grandparents, Harold and Edna Johnson Culham; grandparents, William Henry and Ella (Rogers) Russell; father- and mother-in-law, Carl Dean and Evelyn Saxton Church; aunt and uncle, Elsie and Auburn Culham; uncles, Donald Ray Culham, Clarence (Katherine) Russell and Emory Austin (Stella) (Hazel) Russell; aunts, Lilian (Wyatt) Wilkinson and Volena (Gardner) Smith; cousins, Donald Auburn and Madeline Culham; brother-in-law, James M. Frantz; and nephew, Michael Hill.
Funeral services are at noon Saturday June 2, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory, 5591 S. U.S. Route 68, West Liberty, following visitation that begins at 10 a.m.
Burial is in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
