Kayden L. Inman, 21, of 3750 Logan Road, Bellefontaine, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and disorderly conduct related to an incident Sunday morning that also caused a Huntsville church to go on “lockdown” mode.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 10:40 a.m. to the Huntsville United Methodist Church, 6611 Fruit St., to investigate a reported suspicious person in the parking lot observed by an off-duty deputy at the church.
When deputies arrived, they did not observe him in the parking lot, and then the off-duty deputy escorted Inman outside the church building. Deputies observed that he displayed signs of intoxication.
When asked if he had taken any illegal drugs, the defendant told deputies he had taken “mushrooms and acid” and also had been drinking alcohol.
Deputies learned that Inman had driven a vehicle to the church that morning. The off-duty deputy said the defendant came inside the church building and walked onto the stage during the pastor’s sermon and began turning pages in a Bible.
Inman was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he was administered field sobriety tests. He also submitted to a blood alcohol content test at Mary Rutan Hospital, where results are still pending.
Deputies stated the defendant was cooperative throughout their interactions with him.
Man lodged for domestic violence, aggravated assault
HOWARD |
Nathaniel J. Howard, 27, of 245 Stephenson St., Lakeview, was charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault and criminal damaging related to an incident Saturday morning.
Deputies responded about 5 a.m. to 300 E. Lake St., unit DD, Lakeview, in reference to the landlord reporting his tenants were having a domestic dispute.
Paramedics also responded to the scene and treated Howard’s wife, Kylie, 28, for injuries, including swelling to the left side of her face, dried blood on her lip and swelling to her right hand.
She reported that her husband wanted her to go to the bar with him around 2:30 a.m., and when she refused, he reportedly became angry and allegedly punched at her face and then started hitting at her head.
He also allegedly pulled a hooded sweatshirt over her head and attempted to choke her. Kylie said she was able to get away and ran outside, but then went back inside the motel room once she thought she was safe.
However, the defendant reportedly came at her with a baseball bat and she ran to the motel office, she said. Nathaniel then allegedly used the bat to shatter glass of the motel office door, and also hit Kylie’s hand during the altercation.
He was lodged in the jail.
