Alecia M. Gruber, 20, of rural West Liberty, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and underage consumption of alcohol after a 2:15 a.m. traffic stop Saturday.
She was cited for an improper turn and no headlights.
An officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department on patrol observed her westbound in the 300 block of east Lake Avenue with only the running lights on.
At Lake and Main Street, she pulled into the left turn lane and stopped beyond the stop bar painted on the pavement. She turned on her headlights and signaled to make a right hand turn.
When the traffic light turned green, she turned right from the left lane.
She was stopped in the 900 block of south Main and submitted to field sobriety tests. The officer reports the tests indicated she was under the influence and took her into custody.
Her breathalyzer sample came back at 0.114.
Motorists cited in four-vehicle crash
Two motorists were cited in a four-vehicle crash at 2 p.m. Sunday on Main Street near Cantwell Avenue.
Tonya M. Hamby, 43, of West Mansfield, and Timothy A. Wilson, 23, of Bellefontaine, each was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Ms. Hamby’s southbound pickup truck hit the rear of a car operated by Johnathan M. Beaman, 19, of Bellefontaine. The Beaman car was knocked forward in another pickup operated by Tara D. LeVan, 49, of Bellefontaine.
Mr. Wilson was reportedly following too close to Ms. Hamby and his sport utility vehicle hit the rear of the Hamby pickup truck.
Damage was moderate.
