Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office issued summonses for assault to three individuals who reside at 400 Lincoln Blvd., Russells Point, following an incident early Monday morning.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault at the apartment complex about 4:10 a.m.
Jerry L. Rice, 47, of Apt. 23, reported that he had been sleeping and was wakened by a loud knock at his door. An altercation reportedly ensued between Mr. Rice and William E. Mattox, 25, and his wife, Jessica, 22, both of Apt. 34, resulting in minor injury to all three.
Deputies then located Mr. and Mrs. Mattox. They reported that Mr. Rice had invited them over for drinks and an altercation broke out after Mr. Rice called Mrs. Mattox a foul name.
Mr. Rice reportedly used a stick to strike the couple. The stick was recovered and placed in evidence. Deputies reported finding blood on the stick.
A summons was issued to each of the individuals.
