Tracy L. McCloud, 63, of Marysville, was cited for improper passing related to a crash Tuesday morning on U.S. Route 33 near Township Road 99.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report McCloud was operating a westbound 2017 Honda Ridgeline about 9:25 a.m. when he traveled into the right lane in attempt to pass a westbound single-unit truck operated by Stanley I. Shafer, 55, of Bellefontaine.
However, the truck was making a southbound turn into a State of Ohio access drive and the McCloud vehicle struck the truck.
Damage was heavy to both vehicles. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.
• Jody A. Haines, 25, of Bellefontaine, was treated at the scene of a deer crash Tuesday by Huntsville EMS personnel for possible injuries, but was not transported from the scene.
Deputies report she was operating an eastbound 2006 Honda Accord about 8:50 a.m. on U.S. 33 near T.R. 99 when her vehicle struck a deer. Damage was moderate to the car, and no citations were issued. Haines was wearing her seat belt.
• Deputies report Victoria L. Carnes, 56, of Lakeview, was cited for failure to yield at an intersection related to a previously reported two-vehicle injury crash April 21 at the U.S. 33 entrance ramp from State Route 117.
Carnes and her 15-year-old passenger, along with the second driver, Danielle Foreman, 32, of Russells Point, and her adult passenger, were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of injuries following the crash.
Deputies report Carnes was operating a westbound 2004 Chevrolet Silverado on S.R. 117 and stopped at the stop sign at the entrance ramp to U.S. 33. She then drove onto U.S. 33 and was struck by an eastbound 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe operated by Foreman.
