Mitchell A. Hughes, 25, of Marion, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs during a traffic stop about 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office working a detail in the village of West Mansfield received a report of an intoxicated driver that was “all over the road” on County road 142 and also in the village limits.
The suspect vehicle was located on C.R. 142 approaching County Road 2, reportedly driving well below the posted speed limit and numerous lane violations were observed. Deputies noted that the vehicle also had sustained damage.
During the traffic stop, Hughes admitted that he had smoked K-2 before leaving work at Honda of America Mfg. at East Liberty, and then had struck a parked vehicle in the Honda parking lot. He said he felt like he was intoxicated.
He was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he submitted to a urine test, with test results pending. He was released to a sober person, and also was cited for driving under OVI suspension and driving left of center.
