Richard Devaney, 66, of Lakeview, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs as a result of a crash Friday.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were dispatched about 5:30 p.m. to a non-injury accident on U.S. Route 33 at Lincoln Blvd.
Devaney reportedly was operating a westbound vehicle was traveling westbound on U.S. 33 when he lost control and went off the left side of the roadway, crossed over the eastbound lane and crashed into a ditch and fence in front of Subway, 204 Lincoln Blvd., Russells Point. His vehicle sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene.
Officers observed that Devaney showed signs of impairment. He reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.
He also was cited for failure to control and failure to reinstate his driver’s license and was lodged in the Logan County Jail. Officers note that this is Devaney’s fifth OVI arrest since 1990.
