Volunteers are needed for Discovery Riders Inc., a therapeutic riding program in Zanesfield, which works with children and adults who are physically, socially or cognitively challenged.
A volunteer orientation for adults and youths 14 and older is slated for 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, in the stable at the 5850 State Route 292 facility. Dress for the weather and wear boots.
Volunteer activities include working under the direction of certified therapeutic riding instructors to lead the horse, sidewalk to promote the safety of the rider and preparing the horses and equipment for class.
