Locals involved in 75th anniversary of Shriners Circus
A group of 300 local fourth-graders got to enjoy a local tradition that goes back longer than most people can remember.

Students from Bellefontaine, Indian Lake, Riverside, West Liberty-Salem and Calvary Christian loaded up on buses at their respective schools and made their way to the University of Dayton Arena for the Shriners’ Circus.
This year’s circus, however, was the 75th anniversary — or Diamond Jubilee — of the show that has entertained generations of local youths through the dedication of a group of local clowns and generosity of business owners.
The anniversary show also featured Bellefontaine Police Chief Brandon Standley, Logan County Sheriff Randy Dodds and Bellefontaine Fire Chief Andy Fissel, who joined Shriners and members of the U.S. Marine Corps in presenting the colors at the start of the event.
