A Logan County Sheriff’s Office deputy who has dedicated many years of his career toward keeping local roadways safe along with serving as a K-9 officer was celebrated Wednesday with a retirement open house at the agency.

Deputy Jeff Anspach retires effective Feb. 28 after spending more than 30 years at the LCSO, beginning his career at the age of 18 in 1987.
“I was working as an undercover narcotics agent at the schools at that time, where I posed as a student, while also attending the police academy at the Apollo Career Center in Lima,” the 1986 Ada High School graduate said.
“After graduating from the academy, I worked for the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office for a year and then I was back here in Logan County in 1989, and have been here ever since.” The retiring deputy said he first worked in corrections at the jail for a three-month stint, and then was assigned as a road deputy.
For six to seven years, Deputy Anspach said he served as a canine officer with K-9 Chico.
