Kail Guyan, 27, 204 Morse, Russells Point, was served warrants for possession of drugs, theft and possession of drug abuse instruments, and was issued additional charges for possession of drugs and possession of drug abuse instruments following an incident Friday evening.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office on patrol in the Huntsville area about 10:41 p.m. observed the defendant enter Beard’s Marathon, 6990 State Route 117, and were aware of warrants for his arrest.
Deputies entered the store and made contact with Mr. Guyan. He was escorted to his vehicle so that he could turn over his personal property to a friend. As he did, deputies noticed that Guyan had handed over several drug abuse instruments.
Two syringes, a spoon containing suspected heroin residue and a pack of cigarettes that contained 10 capsules of heroin were recovered. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Man lodged for improper handling of firearm

Joel P. Schleinitz, 35, of 12737 N. State Route 235, Lakeview, was charged with the improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and persistent disorderly conduct following an incident Sunday.
Deputies responded to his address about 7:05 p.m. for a well-being check.
When they arrived, they observed the defendant in a vehicle on the property and then he reportedly drove up to his residence. Deputies noticed an odor of alcohol coming from his person, and he admitted to drinking several beers that afternoon.
Upon a search of his person, deputies recovered several bullets in his pocket. Then after pointing out an open container of beer in the vehicle, Mr. Schleinitz also told deputies that there was a handgun in the vehicle. Deputies recovered a firearm with a bullet in the chamber.
The defendant was transported to the Logan County Jail.
• Marcus Miller, 54, of 106 Lind St., Russells Point, was charged with public intoxication following an incident Saturday morning in his neighborhood.
Deputies first responded to the area about 7:30 a.m. in regard to a Mr. Miller allegedly harassing his neighbors. Deputies escorted the defendant back to his home.
Then about 8:20 a.m., deputies received another complaint about Mr. Miller and responded to 437 Maple St., where residents said that he continued to harass them. The defendant was transported to the jail.
Crash leads to OVI arrest
Christopher S. Wallace, 38, of 733 Second St., Russells Point, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was cited for failure to control following a crash about 1:15 a.m. today.
He was operating an eastbound pickup on State Route 720 at Township Road 239 when he reportedly drove through the intersection and struck a telephone pedestal box, causing heavy damage to his vehicle.
Mr. Wallace did not report any injuries. Deputies observed obvious signs of impairment, and at the Logan County Jail, the defendant refused to take a breath test.
