David L. “Dave” Seeley, 60, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 7, 1956, in Bellefontaine, a son of the late James I. “Jim” Seeley, who died in 2009, and Harriet A. Warye Seeley, who survives.
On June 30, 1979, he married Glenna G. Berry of Bellefontaine, and she also survives, along with three children, Kyle (Ashley) Seeley of Marysville, Kristen (Jeff) Dinovo of DeGraff and Kurt Seeley (Elicia Woodrum) of Bowling Green, Ky.; three grandchildren, Zhoe Lynn Seeley, Kinsley Ann Dinovo and Carter Andrew Seeley; a brother, Michael Seeley of Columbus; sister, Venessa (Tim) Million of Hollywood, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and several great- nieces and nephews.
In David’s younger years he was active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years with his brother and father. For his career, David was a licensed funeral director and embalmer for 37 years. He served the Logan County community at Eichholtz Funeral Home for more than 35 years. David took pride in his work and took joy in his family.
For many years he was active in the Logan County Fair livestock show with his wife, three children and dear family friends. Throughout the athletic years of his children, he loved attending every sporting event to show his support; to coach and to encourage his children and their team. When his grandchildren arrived, he found another generation of his family to love and share his mischievous side. David was a rock to his wife, an inspiration to his children and a joyful and funny guy to his family and friends. He will be missed not only by his family, but to all who knew him.
A memorial service begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at the First Church of God, 1000 E. Brown Ave., Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 31.
Burial of cremated remains in Bellefontaine Cemetery follows the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jennings Farley Funeral Home & Crematory, 5591 U.S. Route 68, West Liberty. In accordance with David’s wishes to continue to support a passion in his life — wrestling — all funds donated will be split between the youth wrestling programs at Benjamin Logan and Bellefontaine school districts.
