Darlene L. Arthur, 57, of Belle Center, passed away Tuesday morning, March 22, 2016, at her home, after a three-year battle with cancer.
She was born in Hardin County on June 7, 1958, to Herbert Joseph and Bernadette Ethel Roof Bensman. She was preceded in death by her father on Feb. 26, 2001, and her mother survives in Bellefontaine.
She married Phil Arthur on Dec. 28, 1995, and he survives in Belle Center; children, Duane (Natalie) Harrington of West Liberty, Tyler (Lacy) Arthur of Belle Center, Michelle (Duane) Grooms of Columbus and Craig (Michele) Comstock of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Liam Harrington, Korbin Arthur, Cole Comstock, Carisse Comstock, Chloe Grooms and Gavin Grooms; siblings, Ruth A. Sickles of Belle Center, Ronald J. Bensman, Robert J. Bensman, Gary L. Bensman and Herbert J. “Herbie” Bensman, all of Bellefontaine, Jinny L. (Tom) Gimbel of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Linda K. Allen and Donna A. Hesser, both of Belle Center and Dennis A. (Debbie) Bensman of Lewistown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara A. Coons, Susan M. Gildow and Carol J. Bensman; brothers-in-law, Larry E. Sickles, Gary E. Hesser and William L. Allen; and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Bensman.
A 1976 graduate of Urbana High School, she worked at Siemens and later at Belletech. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Russells Point, and the Indian Lake Moose.
An avid Ohio State fan, she enjoyed vacations and traveling. Her family and grandkids were dear to her heart.
Father Shawn Landenwitch officiates a funeral at 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center, where visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial is in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
